The Fastest Food of the 50's

The beginning years of the fast food restaurants had many advancements and steps in forming the establiments that exist today. The 50's was a prime decade for these advancements of quality and convenience. White Castle and McDonald's were successful, running restaurants when this decade came along, but new restaurants such as Burger King and Taco Bell began there successful chains in the 50's. With automobile popularity growing in the nation, fast food restaurants came up with a system of selling food to customers from the convenience of their own cars. The drive-through windows were invented before the 1950's, but the speaker system was first introduced in this time period. With technology and convenience becoming more common in these restaurants, more and more hungry customers arrived in the parking lots of these places. For example, McDonald's sold their 100 millionth hamburger in 1958. Our restaurants today would not be the same if it were not for their early attempts for perfection, including the decade of 1950.
